Hello!! A little bit about me…

I was born and raised in Colorado and decided to pursue a degree in Art Education from Metropolitan State University in 2021. My art practice is primarily focused on the areas of Ceramics and Printmaking but I also love to explore new mediums like fibers, collage, painting and video art. As an artist and an educator, I think it is important to use materials thoughtfully to create artworks that bring ideas life and make people think differently about the world and what we consider “art”. I am very driven in my projects and lessons engaging in the unique and ever changing world students live in.

Philosophy of Education:

Art education is a transformative process that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. As an educator, I believe in nurturing students' artistic voices by encouraging inquiry, agency, and reflection through using big ideas and contemporary culture as windows and mirrors in the world of art. My teaching is project based giving students many routes to explore how art is a means of self-expression and a universal language. Ultimately, my goal as an art educator is to open my students to see art in the ever changing world around them and instill in them the confidence to create and respond to it.
