Digital Portfolio
There are many ways I work to integrate technology in the process of artmaking in my classroom. I think the biggest however is the management of my class through Schoology. This platform provides one place for students to have access to assignments, presentations, and turn-in spots.
The development of a digital portfolio is the ongoing task of ceramics students at all levels in my class. I scaffold this learning with every project students are expected to make a slide to turn in for both bisque and glazed pieces. Each slide includes the following:
Pictures of their work that is cropped and from multiple angles.
Their plan sheet, or sketches that support their piece.
Writing about their ideas / inspirations and the skills they used to bring them to life in clay.
At the end of the semester we have worked on rounding out their portfolios for group share-outs on the last day of school.
