Hello!! A little bit about me…

I was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado and decided to pursue a degree in Art Education from Metropolitan State University in 2021. My art practice is primarily focused on the areas of Ceramics and Printmaking but I also love to explore new mediums like fibers, collage, painting and video art. As an artist and an educator, I think it is important to use materials thoughtfully to create artworks that bring ideas life and make people think differently about the world and what we consider “art”.

Philosophy of Education:

Art education is a transformative process that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. As an educator, I believe in nurturing students' artistic voices by encouraging inquiry, exploration, and interdisciplinary connections through an constructivist approach. My teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that art is not merely a subject but a means of self-expression, reflection, and global understanding. Ultimately, my goal as an art educator is to instill in students a lifelong appreciation for the arts, whether they pursue professional careers in the field or engage with art as informed viewers and creators. Working together we will question and explore the definition of “art” to expand creativity and learn as a community.
